The so-called #ReceptioGate refers to the smear campaign that targeted Prof. Carla Rossi, director of the RECEPTIO research centre, following her official criminal complaint filed with the Italian Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (TPC) between 2022 and 2024. The complaint concerned the illicit trade in dismembered medieval manuscripts.
The defamatory campaign was orchestrated in retaliation, involving personal attacks, falsified accusations, and threats, both public and private. This post provides access to verified institutional materials and academic publications related to the case. It also documents the international academic response, which has upheld the values of transparency, scholarly freedom, and cultural heritage protection.
